Proposition 218
Welcome to the Tuscan Water District
The Tuscan Water District (TWD) was established in February 2024 to protect and enhance groundwater resources for landowners within the District’s boundaries. TWD is a locally managed special district focused on ensuring long-term groundwater sustainability through innovative surface water projects, groundwater recharge initiatives, and demand reduction strategies.
Public Notice: Proposed Assessment Ballot Proceeding
The District is conducting a ballot proceeding to consider a proposed special benefit assessment. This funding will cover critical operational costs, including administrative expenses, technical support, and advocacy efforts. The assessment is vital for maintaining local control, protecting groundwater rights, and reducing costs for compliance with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).
- Public Hearing: January 15, 2025, 9:00 a.m.

Why TWD Matters
TWD provides landowners with:
- Local Control: Authority to implement sustainable water solutions.
- Representation: Advocacy and collaboration with state and local entities.
- Funding Advocacy: Securing grants to offset costs for SGMA compliance.
- Groundwater Protection: Safeguarding groundwater rights against external threats.
We invite all stakeholders to stay informed and engaged as we work together to secure a sustainable water future for our community.
